A decoupage kit for 50p (I've got a couple of others in this set) and a vintage Ladybird book for 20p. The graphics in this book have amazing colours and details - eautiful!

The two candlestick 'dangly crystal' things (LOL haven't a clue how to describe them) were £1 for them both. You sort of pop them on top of a candlestick and it turns them into a crystal candelabra.
A pretty vintage Sindy doll to join my collection. Originally in a crocheted teacosy type of dress which I discarded. She was in a box of crocheted toys under a table and cost me 20p. There was another Sindy in that box with short cropped blonde hair which I didn't buy and am kicking myself over now.
I've just joined a Sindy Collectors forum to try to date and price my dolls. The above girl seems to be made before 1982 and I'm having problems finding out exactly who she is. Maybe someone on there will be able to help me.
Hmm, am I starting a Sindy Doll collection now?

Finally, I bought this jacket from a lady who told me she'd worn it once and it was expensive when new (colour in real life is darker). I imagine it was expensive - especially when I saw the label.
The jacket cost me 50p. :-)

Wow - nice find with the Laura Ashley jacket, hate to think how much that cost new.
50p! No way! That is surreal!
I think that over here everyone is dead keen to make the most of the remaining good weather, and there are still some fantastic Vide Greniers around. I'm going to post about one tomorrow or on Thursday (so much to say, so little time).
I'm sorry to hear your sad news, and all that on top of a week of new things. It does make new challenges harder to take on, so I'll be thinking of you as you get on with those courses...
Sorry to hear about your old doggie. I know it is horrid when a beloved pet dies but I'm sure you are happier knowing there was probably no pain and he was happy in a place he loved when he fell asleep.
On a happier note, well done on your finds-always lifts the spirits a little shopping!
Love

So sorry to hear the sad news about you dog, big hugs to you all x
So sorry to hear about your pet. They really do become part of the family, don't they. I used to raise and show Dalmatians so like to hear about your showing. Congrats on getting on the judges "list". We never get such good bargains around here. We only have "garage sales" but it seems that everyone things they can get what they paid for something, or nearly so. Love seeing all your wonderful finds. Thanks for taking the time to maintain this blog. It cheers me up.
First, how sad to lose your old dog friend. I know how hard that is and no wonder you are not feeling as perky as usual. It takes time. I bet he had a wonderful life with you.
I love that decoupage set. Looks lovely, I have never seen one like it. The LA Jacket has to be the find of the year...beautiful. You always find such lovely things. Guess you just have "the knack"
Be kind to yourself ...a big hug from Ireland...Pam
So sorry to hear about your old boy, it is heart wrenching I know - lots of {{hugs}} for you.
Some fantastic bargains again! Love the Sindy doll - I've got a collection of both Sindy and Tressy dolls, although haven't added to them for sometime. There are some really good links on the web for them, if you have no luck let me know and I'll see if I can find some for you. I used to belong to a couple of doll collecting groups and should have links somewhere.
So sorry to hear about your dog, I can imagine how sad that was for you.
I look forward to hearing about your photoshop course, I'm thinking of doing one myself.

PS I love Sindys, would love to see your collection. I keep hunting on eBay and toying whether to buy a particular one I had as a child.

So sorry to hear about your dog, but what a lovely peaceful way for him to go, in his sleep, at home surrounded by the people he loved and normality.
Love your Laura Ashley jacket, what a bargain.

Its so sad when an old boy dies, we've always had dogs - its never easy when we lose one, they really are so much part of the family. At least you know he had a nice life, an you did the best for him, enjoy your memories of him.

Happy thrifting - sorry dont know a darn thing about Sindys - although of course I did have one as a girl - did'nt everyone!
