Happy Hallows Eve.... and my new collection

photo courtesy of Google and shows Nanny Ogg from Discworld

Hope you are all having spooky day. Well OK a FUN spooky day! LOL.

No thrifting news from me at the moment. I've put off bootsaling until next spring so now waiting for the Christmas fayre season. Promise i'll show you my bargains if I get any:-)

I would like to say THANK YOU to Vicky over at Angelsey Allsorts (address in sidebar) who took the time to send me out a vintage surprise giveaway and I think it arrived quite quickly considering the postal strikes are causing a lot of delays.

Look at the scrummy fabric and lace peeping from the top!

Now isn't that a pretty gift? Old lace and vintage buttons. Well Done Vicky for finding them - not to mention a thousand thanks for giving me the pleasure of getting this through the post and opening it.

Actually its arrival caused panic in my dh. He thought I'd bought yet more vintage Sindy stuff off ebay...

Recently I bought 4 new dolls and three lots of clothes. Oh well they were only a few pounds each but the dh was starting to tremble at the amount of parcels arriving every day. ;-) Ah, he will think so if I start buying the collectors items from the 1960's that are brand new in box.

I've decided that I'll collect 1970's and early 80's bits and bobs from the Sindy range. I love all the vintage fashion styles. Anyway here are a few pics for you to enjoy.

This girl is called a 'sad-faced ' sindy (my sadface number 3) because of her wistful expression and she is dressed in an outfit from the late 70's.

The dark haired girl has crimped hair and is from the early 80's, she came to me with matted hair and a dirty face. I don't know about the dress it came in a job lot and looks to be well made with metal poppers on the back. I think she looks really pretty in it and call her my bridesmaid Sindy.

This is another early 80's Sindy wearing a late 70's dress. One I had as a child and wish I'd kept. ( I forgive you Mum but I wish you'd let me keep my Sindy things!)

How about the styling of this wedding dress for bringing back memories? Made in 1979 and I believe it was a very fashionable style back in the day. My 1976 Funtime Sindy seems to like wearing it.

Lastly here is a photo of all my Sindy's together.

Oh yes the collection is growing. Now what I'd really like is a dolls house for them.

Oooh...what lovely Sindys. I too was talked into giving away my collection, my pride and joy was Sindys bedroom furniture and her little MGB GT.

I only had one Sindy though, her best friend was Tressy and then I went and got all up to date and got a Barbie.

It was a lovely surprise getting the parcel so quickly from Vicky wasn't it - and so beautifully wrapped as well.

I love your Sindy's and your collection is certainly growing. I had a funtime Sindy in a striped bathing suit - still yet to replace her.

When I was in my mega Tressy doll collecting phase the postman would actually say 'another doll for you'!

I just adored my Sindy when I was little. I had a Sindy wardrobe to keep all her outfits in and, yes, you've guessed it, I was persuaded to give it all away when I got older. The only thing I have left is a little booklet of Sindy outfits from the mid-1960s.

I like the 1970's Sindy. The hat looks like the one my mam wore at my Aunties wedding. Sindy looks very 'Stepford Wives' in that outfit LOL! X
